Your Profile:
We are seeking two dynamic and motivated individuals for the roles of Technical Ophthalmic Assistant (TOA) and Cardiac Sonographer.
As a TOA some of your responsibilities will include: preparing the patients to see the Ophthalmologist, preparation of examination and treatment rooms, performing basic and routine vision screening examinations, administering eye medications, and cleaning and maintaining ophthalmic instruments. The TOA assists in facilitating the patient flow in the Ophthalmology clinic.
As a Cardiac Sonographer, your primary responsibility is to perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound examinations on adult and pediatric patients in In‐Patient and Out‐Patient environments according to Physicians’ orders, utilizing complex ultrasound equipment. You confidently identify, evaluate and document the presence or absence of cardiac pathology. You also assist the Cardiologist in performing transesophageal echocardiograms in addition to other procedures.

SMMC has started the construction of the new St. Maarten General Hospital (SMGH) to expand its services to accommodate the increased care demand of the people of St. Maarten, its visitors, and neighboring islands. The new hospital is planned to be operational in 2026.
