Your Profile: 
We are seeking two dynamic and motivated individuals for the roles of Operating Room Technician and Anesthesia Assistant.

As Operating Room Technician, you assist the surgeon in the operating room with all treatments and examinations. You also ensure orderliness of the operating room, inspect the condition of machines before operations and prepare medical tools and equipment accordingly. In addition, you guide patients throughout the surgical procedures, instructing them as necessary regarding the processes.

As Anesthesia Assistant, you assist with preparing, administering and maintaining anesthesia and anesthesia equipment. You also accompany the patient before, during and after anesthesia to ensure quality, continuous care and are trained and able to assist in performing life-saving measures such as CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Requirements:

• Surgical Technologist diploma or Anesthesia Assistant diploma (or equivalent);
• A minimum of one (1) year’s work experience;
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology;
• Knowledge of all treatments, procedures  and examinations performed in the operating room;
• Good command of the English language, an additional language is a
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) diplomas is necessary for CPR.

SMMC has started the construction of the new St. Maarten General Hospital (SMGH) to expand its services to accommodate the increased care demand of the people of St. Maarten, its visitors, and neighboring islands. The new hospital is planned to be operational in 2026.
