Dr. Samay Nadery studied medicine at the University of Leiden in The Netherlands where he received his doctorandus and his Medical Doctor (M.D) degree. After a clinical elective at Yale New Haven Hospital/Yale University School of Medicine, he returned to The Netherlands for his internal medicine residency program at the Haaglanden Medical Center in The Hague. This was followed by a specialization in infectious diseases, acute internal medicine, and vascular medicine at the Amsterdam University Medical Center.
Within SMMC, Dr. Nadery was an initiator of and presently serves as chairman of the Retrospectus Committee (Complication Committee). He is also the chairman of the Antibiotics Committee and the Infection-Prevention Committee and served as a member of the Pharmaceutical Registration Committee of St. Maarten. In addition to the local committees, Dr. Nadery is a member of the working party of the Dutch-Antillean-South American (DAS) Clinic on Emerging Infectious Diseases and Rheumatology, the Caribbean Vector Borne Disease Network, and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/ World Health Organization (WHO).
In 2013, he joined SMMC as an internist and in 2020, he took on the responsibility of coordinating COVID-19 care at SMMC as a member of the Outbreak Management Team. Alongside his duties at SMMC, he also works at the International Health Center in the Hague as a consulting internist.
