The St. Maarten Medical (SMMC) is implementing measures in an effort to reduce the current waiting list at the SMMC Eye Care Clinic. Since the opening of the Eye Care Clinic at the SMMC Care Complex in September of last year, there has been a tremendous uptick in the demand for Ophthalmology (Eye Care) services locally which has resulted in a waiting list for patients.

The Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) and Zorgverzekeringskantoor BES (ZVK) of the Caribbean Netherlands, also known as the BES-islands, have further developed the arrangement of their cooperation in a recently signed agreement.
